COVER LETTER
Dear Viewer,
Thank you for visiting. Welcome to my glorified workspace. My name is Trevion Collins, and I am an aspiring journalist. Growing up, writing has always been a passion of mine. After being introduced to the world of journalism in high school, I discovered my interest in video editing and filming. I realized picking up a camera and making something out of nothing in conjunction with writing was an opportunity I could not pass. I value telling the stories of others within ethical standards. The process of connecting the story from the writing to the video always brought a sense of joy. Whether in digital or field, reporting is my life’s work.

Best regards,
Trevion C.
Biography
-
My journalism career began in high school after I joined our newscast, WZHS. It was then that my earliest work was crafted. After working my way up from being a reporter to producing the show, I decided journalism was the career for me. The broadcast won an award for Best Overall Broadcast at the State Louisiana Scholastic Press Association Convention in 2018 and 2019. I later attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to major in Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcasting. I studied and perfected various skills such as interviewing, writing, video editing, camera operation, and more. Those skills were put to the test as I participated in an internship at local-Lafyette news station KLFY News 10, a LACN in TV308, developed multiple videos, and improved my news writing. I consistently received placement on the Dean’s List (1 placement on the Principal’s List) and obtained my B.A. in May 2023.
